Seven forbidden receptions in the interior

As a rule, every year in the design world some details of the interior change: new colors, hit prints, decorative details appear. Something slightly changes, but something also disappears from the interior game for a long time. This year, the designers selected seven major antitrends.

1. Elements of the antique style. Our interiors become more realistic. Now arches, wall molding, imitation of columns and statues are unacceptable in homes. There is a “plus” in this – something what is not appropriative in the apartments goes away. The house becomes easier and that is why it is even more interesting.
2. Stained-glass windows. Color patterns and the game of solar bunnies move in favor of simple glasses. The window must be large, open and provide good lighting.
3. The same furniture. The assortment of the furniture salons is so great that it is just a design sin to buy the same sofa and armchairs or five cabinets in one style. It is much more interesting to assemble your furniture from the different furniture models.
4. Decor with a claim. Lush curtains, folds, gold, brushes and pendants – everything that causes associations with the royal chambers goes to other times. The simpler, the better. Now the decor should be like that.
5. Decorative brick. Favorite walls with imitation of a brick or loft-decoration already not in the fashion. If you want a volumetric decor, choose the more interesting abstract reliefs. Brick completely done with its work in the past seasons.
6. Massive shower cabins. Agree, sometimes they even resembled cabins for procedures in hydropathic or space ships. This year everything is simplified to geometric forms, compact cabins or the usual comfortable baths.
7. Ceilings in several levels. Again, simplicity is in favor. Multilevel ceilings are turned into flat surfaces. For the sake of originality, you can play with colors and textures, but not with the number of “floors” on the ceiling.

So, what is going to be fashionable?

• Bright colors and unusual color combinations.
• Gradients and overflows in the color of the walls.
• Optical illusions in accent details.
• Maximalism and diversity. It is enough of modesty. Take whatever you like.
• Variety of models and colors in the furniture. Ideal for rooms with a discreet design.
• Unique handmade items: from bedspreads to homemade furniture.
• Bright original carpets with geometric patterns.
• All novelties of techno. The more useful technology, the better.

According to the designers’ forecasts, interior trends from the 70’s and 80’s return to the fashion. There is going to be more colors, fewer restrictions in the style, many handmade items and designer exclusives. This year we can abandon the artsy beauty and go in the direction of free and bold decisions in the interior design.
