Interior tasks: what can be done with the help of color?

Practice 1. Divide into zones

What techniques can be applied?

The simplest solution is to paint the walls in different colors. For example, to separate a corner of rest with a favorite chair from a workplace in a room choose a pastel shade for the first zone, and more bright for the second one.
In addition to the traditional walls painting, it is possible to use the floor covering for zoning and coloring. The floor divides the hallways and living rooms successfully.
The last option of dividing the room is the different colors of the furniture. For example, you have gray furniture in the work area and vanilla in the recreation one. This way of zoning is an excellent helper in the interior of the children’s room for two kids, in studios and in one-bedroom apartments.

Practice 2. Change the climate of the room

The secret is simple and successfully applicable in practice. With the help of paints, you can “warm” or “cool” any room. How to choose colors? It is better to choose warm colors (from yellow to purple shades) for rooms on the north side of the house, and for those ones where the sunlight is not enough. If on the contrary, you are forced to flee from the abundance of the sun, choose cool shades – blue, gray, green and their shades.

Practice 3. Correct the size

Too high or low ceiling, narrow room, uncomfortable large room – all these nuances can be coped with the help of colors.

A high ceiling can be reduced by painting in a dark color with a 20-30 cm approach to the walls.
The low ceiling visually rises in the same way, but only with the white color using.
A narrow corridor seems more spacious if the furthest wall is painted in a light color.
Large rooms seem less if they have a dark floor, and the walls are painted in bright or dark colors.

Practice 4. Balance in the room

If we talked about working in a rectangular room in the previous practices, then this option should be used in any premises of irregular shape. A combination of dark walls with light floor and ceiling is suitable here.

Light zones visually retain good illumination, and the dark color of the walls smooths out uneven angles. By the way, in this case it is optimal to use matt paint by TRIORA. Its secret is that the velvety matte surface favorably masks minor wall irregularities. It turns out a double effect of smoothing all the disadvantages of the walls.

Practice 5. In support of style

Each interior style has its own color palette. For example, Scandinavian likes cool natural colors. Boho style impresses with a huge variety of bright colors and unusual combinations, and a business card of loft is a combination of gray. Color makes the interior. Even if the style is a bit blurry, you can pull it with characteristic hues.
