Walls painting is an investment for a long period. The appearance of the room, and the duration of the service of the decorative coating depends on from the quality of materials and the performance of work. Do not you believe? Let’s look at the arguments from experienced masters in favor of reasonable and high-quality painting.
Walls painting consists of a chain of necessary works:
- Surface preparation: cleaning and degreasing of walls, priming of the wall, if it is necessary – leveling of defects with puttying, surface grinding.
- Painting the walls.
Each of them is important and serves as the basis for the successful application of paint. Do not get around anything, trying to speed up the process. The broken chain of work worsens the quality of surface preparation and place in question the beauty of the final coating.
Argument 2. Primer is mandatory
Many people neglect the primer; try to save on it. What is the negative side of this economy? Primer promotes better adhesion of the materials, serves as a basis for creating a strong coating layer. Without it, the surfaces may eventually crumble. In addition, an unprimed wall absorbs material and increases its consumption. Thus, by saving on the primer, you get a short-lived weak coating, using more paint and uneven color on the surface.
Argument number 3. Nothing superfluous
In an effort to save and increase the amount of material, many dilute the paint with water more than this is intended by the instruction. Liquid paint creates a fuzzy uneven coating.
Argument number 4. And maybe enough?
By stocking up with the materials, many get them back to back, according to the minimal miscalculation. In painting, this approach is unacceptable. First, if you finish painting the wall after the part has dried up, you can get joints and run-off in shades. In order to avoid this, it is better to round off the calculated flow and to buy an additional jar of paint. Even if you save it, you will have a reserve for minor repairs. Secondly, if you make individual color of the paint with the help of coloring studious, be sure to make it with a whole lot to get the same color. It will be inconvenient then to buy the missing paint and separately tint it.
Argument number 5. In favor of the quality of the coating
Count on applying the paint in two layers. Even if the paint has a high opacity, several layers will provide a uniform coating and a beautiful juicy color.
All these arguments – are valuable lessons learned from unsuccessful attempts at saving. Select a little more for painting than planned – and the result will pay for itself.
