The New North Frisian style: what is it?

Gavrilenko

An original novelty is on the threshold of the interior fashion. Please welcome, this is a new North Frisian style. It came to us from the shores of the northern sea, suggested to forget about the severity of the metropolis and temptingly invited to join the beach interiors.

What kind of style is this?

It is based on the ethnic motives. Somehow, it resembles the Danish Huggie style –simple, light, cozy, and close to nature. The difference is in that the Huggie is based on the cold of the northern winters, but the new style is fully adapted to the seaside zone. The North Frisian Islands on the North Sea coast are characterized by a sunny, humid and windy climate, and their hospitable houses invite you to escape from the hustle and bustle. Everything in these houses is for rest. Lush gardens beckon for a cup of coffee, soft sofas invite to retire with a book, and a light color scheme creates space and airiness in the interior.В этом стиле приветствуется

Use following things for the North Frisian style creation:

  • White color;
  • Natural materials in the house and its territory finishing;
  • A lot of upholstered furniture and pillows.

The North Frisian style is especially relevant in summer cottages and country houses, perfectly fit the interior of the loggia, and looks original even in the ordinary room of the high-rise building. Do you want the interior of the overseas islands? It is easy to create it.

Key details of the North Frisian style

  1. Simple colors. The seaside style strives for maximum space and openness. White and red are favorite colors. The shades of red clay are used in tile, finishing floors. White is used mainly in the general palette of the interior: walls, the ceiling, and furniture. The white stairs is a special hit. Be sure to apply this technique in two-story buildings. To give a zest, decorate the steps with the natural decor – interesting stones from the beach, flowers in flowerpots.
  2. The stone in the finish. In country-houses it is used for fences in front gardens. In the interior of a high-rise building, you can simulate a stone masonry on a loggia or create a small stone hill. You can use small stones, poured into the transparent flowerpots.
  3. Reeds. On the North Sea it is used for roofing – it is durable and moisture resistant. In our climate, reed-roofs are not acceptable – it is too fire-hazardous coating. However, it can be used advantageously in decor. You can create an interesting fence on the plot, make a mobile partition in the apartment or just put a reed in a vase.
  4. Light soft furniture, spacious sofas. Comfortable sofas with deep seats of simple geometric shapes is the hit of the interior. Their calling is to calm and relax, to give blissful hours of rest. Take a couple of big floor cushions on the sofa – and the perfect ensemble is ready.
  5. Oven. Unfortunately, in the apartment interior, this idea cannot be applied, but it is possible to create an imitation. In a private house, the stove looks luxurious. An important touch: it needs to be designed beautifully, made as the heart of the house.

In the North-Frisian style, recreation areas in attics, garden chairs and sun beds, wooden windows, many bushes and flowers – on the plot, in pots, vases – are very welcomed. Some details in the marine style are also relevant. We think a little resort in the house will not harm anyone. Try the North Frisian style in your interior.
